Biden Believes Wildly Unpopular VP Harris Deserves More Attention

Following his official announcement that he will run for a second term in office, President Joe Biden jumped to the defense of his more hard-pressed vice president.

Earlier this year, Vice President Kamala Harris called Democratic objections that she wouldn’t make a good presidential ticket for 2024 “political chatter.”

In an interview with Stephanie Ruhle on MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour” on Friday, Biden was questioned about the significance of Harris in his reelection announcement. Ruhle pointed out that during the address, Biden mentioned his vice president ten times.

Contrary to when former President Barack Obama declared his second run for the White House, Biden himself received zero attention. The host asked about what he was trying to imply.

Biden began by remarking that he and his former boss have various communication styles, before launching into a response to Harris’ many detractors saying he believes that Harris hasn’t received the commendation she merits.

The president dutifully read her resume while admonishing her to be treated with greater respect.

Rhule responded by making the obvious argument that Biden might be supporting her inclusion on the ticket given that many people actually believe he won’t serve out his entire second term if elected. He gave a striking reaction when she asked him why anyone would support an 82-year-old president.

The Democrat bragged about his knowledge and claimed to be wiser than the great majority of people.

Biden criticized the media for focusing on unfavorable reports concerning his government almost simultaneously.

“Everything is negative…the only way you’re gonna get a hit is if there’s something negative, you know. You don’t — anyway, that’s number one.”

The distinction between himself and Vice President Harris appears to have been muddled by those besides him. She recently tweeted about having a meeting with “our Investing in America cabinet” before praising “our” Administration for its historic accomplishments.

Maybe the plan is to portray themselves as co-presidents who share equal “credit” for the direction the country is taking. It is challenging to envision this as a successful campaign stance given the unpopularity of both, along with the state of the country.
