Embattled former state of Florida employee Rebekah Jones lamented on Twitter after her son was arrested for threatening to commit a school shooting rampage and stab the students who angered him.
On Wednesday, Jones blasted Florida Ron DeSantis after her 13-year old son was arrested in Santa Rosa County for “digital threats of terrorism” after he threatened to shoot up a school.
In the tweets, Jones claimed that an officer told her a warrant had been issued for her son’s arrest after authorities reportedly received an anonymous report about messages that came from her son which were shared in a Snapchat group.
In response to the allegations, Jones claimed that someone who claimed to be a cousin of one of her son’s classmates joined their private Snapchat group and argued that the certain individual recorded the conversations and reported them to the police.
She also claimed that it all happened because her son shared a popular internet meme, criticizing the police.
She also added that when she asked the arresting officers who ordered the arrest, she was told that “it was the state.”
“My family is not safe. My son has been taken on the gov’s orders, and I’ve had to send my husband and daughter out of state for their safety. THIS is the reality of living in DeSantis’ Florida. There is no freedom here. Only retaliatory rule by a fascist who wishes to be king.” Jones lamented.

The controversy arose after the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office released an incident report on Thursday, alleging that the 13-year-old made repeated threats to shoot up Holley Navarre Middle School and to stab students who angered him.
Following the report, investigators went on to interview multiple students who spoke with the teenager, as well as those who saw messages he posted on social media.
According to the report, Jones’ child sent messages to his friends, claiming that “I want to shoot up the school.”
“If I get a gun I’m gonna shoot up hnms lol,” he added.
“I’m getting a wrath and natural selection shirt so maybe but I don’t think many ppl know what the Columbine shooters look like.” Jones’ son continued.
“Okay so it’s been like 3-4 weeks since I got on my new antidepressants and they aren’t working but they’re supposed to by now so I have no hope in getting better so why not kill the losers at school,” he said.
The teenager also reportedly told one of his friends that he was planning to shoot up the school before Spring Break but later decided to postpone it until March 31.
