A Republican Congressman recently released a new political campaign ad, slamming US President Joe Biden, reports revealed.
Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX) aired a new campaign advertisement, calling out President Biden’s weakness as a leader of the United States.
In the video he released on October 4, he compared the Greatest Generation which his father belonged to and the president that the US has now, which is President Biden.
“Today, President Biden is projecting weakness, and weakness invites aggression.” McCaul said before he went on to compare the current President and President Reagan, who “believed in peace through strength.”
Since the US’ chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, McCaul has been a vocal critic of Biden’s policies on the said matter and even pushed for the State Department to organize the records of what exactly happened during the evacuation from Kabul.
Currently, McCaul is running to win re-election in Texas’s 10th Congressional District against Democratic challenger Linda Nuno.
McCaul’s campaign ad was not the first ad released last month against the President.
11 days prior to the midterm elections, another political advertisement was aired during Game 1 of the World Series, blasting US President Joe Biden, criticizing him over his response to multiple issues, including the illegal immigration concerns and the record-high inflation.
The advertisement rant against “low wages, high inflation, record crime” and “illegal immigration from places as far away as Pakistan.”
Reports revealed that the ad was released by the Citizens for Sanity which targets Latino voters across the United States due to its narrator, speaking with a clear Hispanic accent.
“Our cities are a mess. Public services are a nightmare. But instead of helping us, Joe Biden has sent $66 billion to Ukraine. Weapons worth billions more. And now, Joe Biden says his fight in Ukraine could lead to nuclear Armageddon. World War III,” the ad said.
“You know what I say? No mas,“ the ad concluded.
According to the reports, the group, Citizens for Sanity, is reportedly “connected to officials in former President Donald Trump’s administration.”
In an exclusive report released by New York Post, the same group has “run other ads during the Major League Baseball playoffs in certain media markets focusing on the border crisis. Some have jarred viewers. Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Inquirer called one of them “violent” and “vile.”
Moreover, in response to the critics following the release of the political campaign, the Major League Baseball released a statement, claiming that it is not responsible for deciding what political ads run during game telecasts.
“Networks make the decision on what political ads to run. MLB does not believe it should be in the role of censoring political advertising,” an MLB spokesperson said on Friday.
