Florida now recommends against Covid-19 vaccine for adults under the age of 40 amid the pandemic crisis.

The Office of Florida’s Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo, MD, PhD issued an announcement on October 17, warning against adults between the ages of 18 and 40, getting Covid-19 mRNA Vaccines.

“The Florida Department of Health (Department) conducted an analysis through a self-controlled case series, which is a technique originally developed to evaluate vaccine safety,” Ladapo announced during a recent press conference.

In the announcement, it was revealed that “this analysis found that there is an 84% increase in the relative incidence of cardiac-related death among males 18-39 years old within 28 days following mRNA vaccination.”

“With a high level of global immunity to COVID-19, the benefit of vaccination is likely outweighed by this abnormally high risk of cardiac-related death among men in this age group. Non-mRNA vaccines were not found to have these increased risks,” the announcement added.

Thus, the State Surgeon General recommended against males in particular, aged 18 to 39 from taking the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

“Those with preexisting cardiac conditions, such as myocarditis and pericarditis, should take particular caution when making this decision,” Ladapo advised.

“Studying the safety and efficacy of any medications, including vaccines, is an important component of public health. Far less attention has been paid to safety and the concerns of many individuals have been dismissed – these are important findings that should be communicated to Floridians.” Surgeon General Dr. Ladapo explained.

The recent announcement comes after Florida released a report of declining numbers of Covid-19 cases.

“The Florida Department of Health’s biweekly COVID report, published Friday, lists 11,296 new COVID cases weekly, on average, since Sept. 23. That’s the lowest since April 8. The number of deaths from the respiratory disease followed the downward trend, with 261 new deaths weekly on average since Sept. 23. That’s the lowest total since June 17,” the Palm Beach Post reported.

According to the U.S. Health and Human Services Department, the state’s hospitals, doctors and nurses were tending to 1,609 COVID-positive patients statewide, the smallest number since May 17.
