Another top White House aide is going to leave US President Joe Biden amid his tirades against “MAGA Republicans,” abandoning all pretenses about bringing the nation together and being supportive of unity.

In a report released by Washington Examiner on Friday, President Joe Biden’s top climate adviser, Gina McCarthy is scheduled to leave White House while veteran Democratic aide John Podesta will join as an adviser for clean energy.

According to the reports, deputy Ali Zaidi will take over McCarthy’s role.

The transition comes just weeks after lawmakers passed the largest climate spending bill in U.S. history.

In a statement released by Biden during his announcement of the changes, he said, “Under Gina McCarthy and Ali Zaidi’s leadership, my administration has taken the most aggressive action ever, from historic legislation to bold executive actions, to confront the climate crisis head-on.”

McCarthy had reportedly planned to remain in the role for a year but later agreed to stay on longer to help pass the Inflation Reduction Act.

The Act that was signed by Biden into law will reportedly provide nearly $370 billion in funding for new clean energy tax credits and climate change-fighting provisions.

In addition, McCarthy had also been serving as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency under former President Barack Obama from 2013 to 2017.

Meanwhile, as a counselor to Obama, Podesta coordinated White House climate efforts. He also chaired Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and was the White House chief of staff under former President Bill Clinton.

Currently, Podesta is now working on the implementation of major climate spending provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, which will allow the Democrats to transform the energy and automobile sectors.

On Friday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that White House national climate adviser Gina McCarthy has resigned from her position.

“Gina is indeed leaving us,” Jean-Pierre said.

“She, as you know, has been a leader in what we have seen as one of the largest investments in dealing with climate change,” she added.

“We are very sad to lose her,” the press secretary continued.

Not long after the news broke, Biden bragged about McCarthy’s accomplishments while in office via a press statement.

“Under Gina McCarthy and Ali Zaidi’s leadership, my administration has taken the most aggressive action ever, from historic legislation to bold executive actions, to confront the climate crisis head-on. The Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest step forward on clean energy and climate in history, and it paves the way for additional steps we will take to meet our clean energy and climate goals.” Biden wrote.
