A transgender cheerleader in Texas was kicked out of a cheerleading camp for allegedly choking her teammate.

According to the reports, the cheerleader who was born a biological male was also given a criminal citation after she attempted to injure her female teammate by choking her in the middle of a heated altercation between team members.

Texas cheerleader Averie Chanel Medlock posted on Facebook last week about the incident.

“Well guys I’m officially retired as a cheerleader as of last night at 5:30 AM. A girl on the team was being very disrespectful and told me I am a MAN with a PENIS and that [guys] should not be on the team,” the cheerleader said.

“I stood up for myself and she called her mom and dad because she was scared because I [stood] up for myself. Her father said ‘she still has testosterone and a penis and I will kill anyone who comes after my daughter.” She added.

In a Facebook post from team members, the incident occurred at Ranger College after the female teammate made offensive remarks against Medlock.

Allegedly, the teammate threw transphobic and racist remarks at Medlock, with cell phone video showing other cheerleaders hiding in a room from an agitated Medlock before the altercation, forcing her to choke the cheerleader.

After the police arrived, the father of the girl whom she allegedly choked was called to the scene and began asking the police officers to release body camera and CCTV footage of the incident.

“I ask you what you would have done when receiving a phone call at 1 o’clock in the morning from your daughter stating they had locked themselves in the room with other girls. At no time did I ever say anything about your race or your gender.” The father, Mike Jones, wrote on Facebook.

However, Medlock asserted that the physical confrontation between her and the other cheerleader was actually a “joke” but the police on the scene gave the former cheerleader a criminal citation for assault and reportedly removed her from campus.

The Medlock’s incident comes as the debate whether transgenders should participate in female athletics, continues to rage.
