Dem Governor Acknowledges Likelihood Of Economic Recession

Democratic governor acknowledges the likelihood of a US economic recession, contradicting US president Joe Biden’s repeated claims against the idea of a looming economic decline of the country.

During a speech at a local gathering of supporters on Monday, Democratic Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly, who is running for re-election in November, claims that the country suffering from recession is possible and spoke on a possible downturn in the U.S. economy with a statement saying “Bring it on.”

Kelly also spoke of her administration’s budget and stated that “we have managed the budget so well that we now have done all of these things: We have paid down billions of dollars in debt, and we have still left in our ending balance a $1.5 billion surplus. And that doesn’t count the now up to $950 billion rainy day fund.”

“We just finished out the revenue year, and by statute, we’ve got to put 50% of whatever we outdid estimates by. And so we took another – I don’t know if you know that – $219 million more on top of the $750 [million] that was already there. So we are in really good shape,” she added.

She also confidently welcomed the possibility of recession and said “bring it on. Because we now have enough money to be able to ride it out while still funding everything that we’re supposed to be funding.”

The Democrat’s recent acknowledgment that recession is coming contradicts President Biden and several liberal media outlets.

Last month, Biden blasted a reporter who suggested that a recession could be inevitable.

“Come on, don’t make things up,” Biden said after the reporter noted that several economists were saying a recession was “more likely than ever.”

“Now you sound like a Republican politician, I’m joking, that was a joke, that was a joke. But all kidding aside, no I don’t think it is. I was talking to Larry Summers this morning, there’s nothing inevitable about a recession.” Biden argued.

On Sunday, Former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers warned that a recession was likely to occur.

MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan was also slammed last month after he ridiculed a restaurant owner who was concerned about a potential recession in the country.

“There is no recession. The US has been breaking records on growth and jobs. But, y’know, vibes,” Hasan said.
