According to the authorities, the police found a dead male with a gunshot wound to the chest when they arrived.

Police revealed that the unidentified woman shot the suspected stalker that resulted in his death, after he kicked in her front door.

The SBG San Antonio also reported that the woman told the police that she had recently moved to get away from the man.

Moreover, the police discovered damage to the woman’s door frame while other people were inside the residence when the shooting took place.

On Monday, the Houston Police Department posted a photo of the scene to Twitter, stating that its officers from its Clear Lake division responded to the scene.

The Houston Police refused to give more details about the crime scene when asked to comment but the investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The incident took place days after more than 250 Republican donors and self-described gun rights supporters penned an open letter this weekend to call for Congress to move on the limited gun reform in wake of the Texas shooting massacre that killed 21 people.

“Most law enforcement experts believe these measures would make a difference. And recent polls of fellow conservatives suggest that there is strong support for such gun-safety measures.” The letter read.

The bipartisan group of lawmakers led by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) also encouraged the states to implement the “red flag laws,” that will prohibit individuals considered dangerous to themselves or others from possessing firearms.

The laws will also reportedly expand mental health care and other measures to expand background checks for gun purchases and make schools more secure.

On Friday, Coryn blasted and claimed that it would be “embarrassing” if Congress failed to act in response to the Uvalde shooting.

The letter also supported Coryn and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to lead the GOP in bipartisan gun reform efforts in Congress.

“He’s the right man to lead this bipartisan effort, as he has demonstrated throughout his career,” the letter added.
