A leftist Massachusetts lawmaker crashed her car into a house on Friday, injuring herself and her 7-year-old son, according to reports.
33-year-old Kendra Lara, who is known as a supporter of the controversial defund-the-police movement in Boston, was driving with a “revoked license” in an unregistered car with her son, Zaire, when they crashed through a fence and yard before striking the house.

“The Boston Police Department on Saturday released a redacted report about a car that crashed into a home at 803 Centre St. on Friday around 4:25 p.m. The report said the driver and passenger were a woman and her child, but their names were blacked out,” the Boston Globe reported.
Zaire was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he received “several stitches” and is expected to recover, while Lara suffered “some cuts and will probably require some stitches,” her office said in a statement.
“It was a very scary situation for everyone involved but thankfully Councilor Lara and Zaire are expected to make a full recovery,” the statement read, adding that the she is grateful to first responders and hospital staff, as well as “the neighbors and bystanders who came to their aid on the scene.”
The councilwoman’s son was reportedly not in a booster seat at the time of the crash, urging the West Roxbury Division of Boston Municipal Court to summon Lara to face charges of operating a motor vehicle after suspension, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
According to the police report, a 51A report could also be filed against Lara “due to neglect and failure to use a proper car seat for the child’s safety.” A 51A is a form required to be submitted to the Department of Children and Families when “child abuse or neglect” is suspected.
Lara, once described as “the first black socialist ever to be elected to the Boston City Council,” was also the subject of an offensive video that has been going around for the past five months that shows Boston charter school teacher Owen Thomas bragging about having just finished a sex act with the public official.
