Parental groups talk about puberty blockers for boys

Concerns from parent groups have been raised after a medical study showed what could happen to boys who take puberty blockers. In the end, the study showed that drugs that stop puberty could lead to a lot of health issues, such as long-term problems with childbearing.

A study by the Mayo Clinic looked at over 100,000 sperm cells from boys who had gender dysphoria and boys who had been taking drugs to stop puberty for a while. The study found that people who took puberty blockers had mild to serious sex gland atrophy. This meant that the cells in the testicles aged and stopped working as quickly.

Some people have said that the effects of puberty blockers don’t last forever, but this study shows that the effects can last a long time. Microlithiasis, a buildup of calcium in the testicles, was also found by the experts. This can be linked to testicular cancer.

Tiffany Justice, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, said, “We think that when parents have accurate information about puberty blockers and the harms that they cause that can’t be fixed, we will see a huge drop in the number of parents agreeing to give these drugs to their children.”

“The problem is that American medical institutions, hospitals, and the American Academy of Pediatrics have not been honest with parents about the harms and possible harms of puberty blockers, and that’s not okay,” she said.

The American Academy of Pediatrics has used these treatments for a long time and still supports them, but they have asked for a review of the treatments. Tiffany Justice told me that she feels bad for parents who thought these effects could go away.

“Parents should have correct information when they choose what’s best for their kids.” “And no child can agree to being on puberty blockers,” Justice said.

Some people who spoke out against these treatments felt attacked because they were called “transphobic.” But now that the study is out, it’s clear that their worries were true.
