Arizona Builds Its Own Border Wall in the Coolest Way Possible

Arizona takes action and builds its own border wall using shipping containers welded together with razor wires in an attempt to control the ongoing border crisis under the Biden administration.

On Friday, Republican Governor Doug Ducey issued an executive order to fill gaps in the border wall in Yuma, claiming that Arizona “can’t wait any longer.”

The governor signed an order, directing the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to fill gaps in the border wall in the Yuma sector as illegal migrants attempting to cross the US-Mexico border continue to worsen the crisis.

“We issued an Executive Order directing the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs to immediately fill the gaps in the Yuma border wall.” Ducey posted on Friday.

The progress was made within three days.

“In Arizona, we get things done. We’re taking bold steps to protect our communities.” Ducey said in a separate tweet recently.

The construction consisted of “60 double-stacked shipping containers, welded shut and topped with four feet of razor wire.”

According to Ducey’s office the containers are 22 feet tall and weigh nearly 9,000 lbs.

“Arizona has had enough. We can’t wait any longer.” Ducey said in a statement.

“HAPPENING NOW. Construction begins on a physical barrier at the Yuma portion of the border. 60 double-stacked shipping containers, welded shut, Topped with 4 feet of razor wire, Height: 22 feet, Weight: 8,800 lbs.” Ducey said in a separate tweet.

In the data released by Customs and Border Patrol, the Yuma sector has seen 259,895 migrant encounters only in the fiscal year 2022.

Amid the ongoing crisis, the governor blamed the Biden administration’s “lack of urgency on border security,” calling it a “dereliction of duty.”

“For the last two years, Arizona has made every attempt to work with Washington to address the crisis on our border. Time and time again we’ve stepped in to clean up their mess. Arizonans can’t wait any longer for the federal government to deliver on their delayed promises,” Ducey lamented.

Last month, Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., pushed for the Biden administration to close those gaps.

“This is a step forward and I’ll keep working to ensure that Arizona has the tools needed for a secure and orderly process at the border including fencing and barriers where they make sense,” Kelly said in a statement.
