Think You Know How to Use Peroxide?

You wouldn’t be a prepper if you didn’t know some of the amazing benefits of peroxide. It is one of the safest and most effective sanitizers. It kills bacteria naturally by means of oxidation. You have probably seen how peroxide fizzes when you apply it to an infected wound. That is one of the visible effects of oxidation. Despite its benefits, peroxide remains underused. I talk to fellow preppers all the time and when asked about peroxide, they usually say that they use it as a first aid antiseptic and as a mouthwash. That’s it?! Below are some great ways to take advantage of peroxide. I bet you that you’ll save money on household cleaners and on doctor visits if you start applying these tips today.

For Your Health

  1. Use peroxide to clean wounds that have debris in them. It washes out both junk and bacteria.
  2. Soak infected wounds in a 3% Hydrogen peroxide solution several times daily. Some patients have reported that this simple solution cured their gangrene!
  3. Make a solution with 1 part peroxide and 1 part water and spray it on your feet daily prior to going to bed to get rid of fungus.
  4. Warm bath soak. Add 2-3 cups of 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to your bath water to get rid of germs and detox your skin. This is a great survival solution.
  5. Using peroxide on your toothbrush helps whiten teeth.

Note: There are also reports that peroxide solution can be used as an enema, a colonic or a douche. I don’t recommend that simply because I have no experience with either and my research revealed that the safety of using peroxide internally is questionable.  There have been some studies and experiments done that suggest that internal (even intravenous) use of hydrogen peroxide is effective in treating various diseases because peroxide is naturally produced by the body on many different occasions. There are doctors who have successfully treated patients with emphysema by administering a peroxide solution intravenously. While I am open-minded, I am not yet convinced. As soon as I get additional information, I will share it with you.

For Your Home

  1. Use hydrogen peroxide solution in your laundry to whiten your clothes.
  2. Soak your toothbrush in peroxide to keep germs from breeding
  3. Use peroxide to clean counters and sinks.
  4. You can also use a light peroxide solution to clean lunch boxes and the interior of your refrigerator.

For Your Garden

  1. Plants need peroxide to stay healthy. Unfortunately, due to pollution, much of the naturally occurring peroxide does not reach the ground as it interacts with the toxins in the air. Peroxide is the reason why rainwater is better for plants than the water out of the hose. To help your plants, add 1 ounce of 3% peroxide to every quart of water that you give to your plants.
  2. Make your own insecticide. Mix a cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 1 gallon of water and add 1 cup of sugar. Spray directly on your plants to prevent bugs.

Peroxide is an effective antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal solution. Best news is, it’s dirt cheap, which means that you should quite literally never quit stocking up on it.
