Russian soldiers are shooting their own legs, using Ukrainian ammunition so they can avoid fighting and be sent home.
In the audio intercepted by the Ukrainian soldiers, Russian soldiers were allegedly heard looking for Ukrainian ammunition so they could shoot themselves in the leg to avoid fighting and make it appear that they were hit by the Ukrainians.
According to the reports, Russian soldiers were left with no choice but to take extreme measures to avoid the war due to harsher punishments that await anyone who deserts their posts back home.
In an intercepted audio between a soldier and his mother, the soldier was heard explaining how they were “searching for 7.62 bullets fired by their enemies, rather than 5.62 ammo fired by their Russian AK-74s.”
Another soldier was also heard in an intercepted audio that was released last weekend saying: “They’ve been shooting at us for 14 days. We’re scared. We’re stealing food, breaking into houses. We’re killing civilians.
“Russian officers shoot themselves in the legs to go home. There are corpses everywhere. They collected eight wagons of cargo, 200.” the man in the audio added.
Reports revealed that Russian soldiers appear to be growing “weary of war” following the brutal fighting that has been happening for three weeks, resulting in the deaths of 7,000 Russians.
“More than 14,000 Russians are believed to have been injured in the fighting, with around half killed as they fight Vladimir Putin ’s war.” reports added.
This came after the video of a Russian soldier sobbing while apologizing for Russia’s actions went viral.
“I apologise for myself, for my squad to every home, to every street to every citizen of Ukraine, to the elderly, to women, to children for our invasion of these lands. I gravely apologise for our treacherous invasion.” The soldier said while others soldiers can be seen tearing up as they bow their heads into their hands.
