Trump beat his main opponent, Nikki Haley, in South Carolina, which is Haley’s home state. Trump is the former president of the United States.
This is Trump’s fourth straight win, this time by a 20-point edge. Donal Trump celebrated his victory by talking only about the November election and never mentioning Nikki Haley in his speeches. Instead, he talked about Joe Biden, since Trump may be meeting Biden again.
When asked about Biden, Trump said, “We’re going to look Joe Biden right in the eye—He’s destroying our country—and we’re going to say ‘Get out Joe, you’re fired.'”
A lot of people were surprised that Donald Trump didn’t address Haley because after winning the New Hampshire primary, he gave a speech in which he criticized Nikki Haley for acting like she won the election.
Even though Donald Trump has won, Nikki Haley has made it very clear that she’s not getting out of the race and will be there for a long time. She has kept saying that the 40% win and votes she did get was a big number and that she would stay in the race for those people.
Nikki Haley spoke out and said she was working hard to give people an alternative to either Trump or Biden. She said, “Republican primaries have shown that a huge number of voters want an alternative. I’m not giving up this fight when a majority of Americans don’t like either Donald Trump or Joe Biden.”
The Trump team said that Haley is “no longer living in reality” because she is still running for office even though many people think she won’t win. They said there would be enough delegates for Donald Trump to win the race. Politicians don’t think Haley will drop out, especially since she has so many donors and has raised so much money for her race.
