Joe Biden to Prohibit Automobiles Made in China?!

Senator Sherrod Brown has asked President Joe Biden to stop letting electric cars made in China into the United States. The head of the Senate Banking Committee, Brown, said, “Chinese electric vehicles are an existential threat to the American auto industry.”

Other government leaders have talked about the dangers of letting Chinese electric cars into the US. Still, others have said that they should have higher tariffs, but Sherrod Brown is the first person to say that the goods should be banned completely.

Senator Brown made his case to the public in a video post on X. He said, “We cannot let China bring its government-backed cheating to the American auto industry.”

President Biden warned that they “could flood our market with its vehicles, posing risks to our national security.” He also said that he would not let that happen while he was in office.

Automobiles could be limited in ways that would make it impossible for them to gather private information from American drivers. Washington said vehicles like this “regularly use their cameras and sensors to record detailed information on US infrastructure; interact directly with critical infrastructure; and can be piloted or disabled remotely”.

China makes more cars than any other country in the world. In the US, BYD, a Chinese electric car business, and Tesla have been in huge competition.

Liao Min, China’s Vice Finance Minister, is worried about the limits and tariffs that have been put on Chinese cars. Even though the biggest airlines in the U.S. asked Biden to stop approving new flights between China and the U.S., the trade and business relationship between the two countries is still tense.

“Flights will continue to be given to Chinese carriers at the expense of US workers and businesses if the growth of the Chinese aviation market is not stopped and equal access to the market is not taken into account,” said Anthony Blinken.
