Is the “biggest ship on the planet” a BIG Deal?

It is planned that the world’s biggest cruise ship, which cost more than $2 billion, will leave from Miami, Florida. However, there are some worries about how the ship will affect the environment.

The ship will start its trip from Miami and go from island to island for seven days. Royal Caribbean International makes the cruise ship, which is called the Icon of the Seas. The ship has eight “neighborhoods,” and each one has seven swimming pools and six waterslides. It’s called the biggest cruise ship and has 20 decks, which is getting a lot of attention.

It can hold 7,600 people, which is five times as many as the Titanic. Most cruise ships can only hold about 3,000 people at most. It’s about 1,200 feet long and weighs more than 250,000 theta. It took about two billion dollars to build.

People have a lot of different, mostly negative, things to say about the huge ship. They talk about how it will affect the world and climate. Because it has more methane, liquified natural gas is worse for the environment and the ship is running on it.

Methane is 80 times stronger than carbon dioxide and is much worse for the environment. Bryan Comer, who is in charge of the Marine Program at the International Council on Clean Transport, said that the ship is bad for the environment and that it is “a step in the wrong direction.”If you use LNG as a marine fuel, it’s likely to release over 120% more climate gases throughout its lifetime than marine gas oil.

Royal Caribbean International tried to explain the use of this huge cruise ship by saying that the Icon of the Seas looks at every kilowatt of energy “for energy efficiencies and emission reductions.”

The LNG fuel business is rising quickly because it’s being used in such a cutting-edge cruise ship. Because of this, a lot of people are worried about greenhouse gases and the damage they can do to the world and the environment.
