Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz slammed the President Biden administration over high inflation in his speech on the CPAC Texas stage on Friday.
According to Cruz, the inflation under a Democrat-led White House and Congress in the United States is so high and “out of control” that Americans are having a hard time buying everyday necessities, now that they have become too expensive.
“We’ve got out-of-control inflation, and the cost of everything is going through the roof. Cost of food is through the roof. Cost of electricity through the roof. The cost of healthcare – through the roof. The cost of gasoline – through the roof,” the Republican said.
“It’s so bad ANTIFA can’t afford bricks,” he also said, jokingly.
Cruz also ridiculed and mocked Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after she was recently arrested on Capitol Hill in a pro-abortion protest. During that time, photos of Ocasio-Cortez surfaced after she made a scene by putting her hands behind her back when, in fact, she was not handcuffed by police.
“It is so bad that AOC can’t afford fake handcuffs,” Cruz said.
In addition, the former presidential candidate also criticized Democrat President Biden’s U.S. foreign policy amid the current controversy involving the US, China and Taiwan.
“Every enemy of America is stronger. It’s so bad we sent [House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.”
Cruz also claimed that the “truly surreal moment” of the house speaker’s trip was the White House’s response to a Chinese state-owned newspaper stating that Pelosi’s plane should be shot down.
Cruz then blasted Biden’s response to the China-Taiwan crisis and highlighted how weak it was for the Biden administration to not say that the natural result of China shooting down Pelosi’s plane would be war.
“The White House press secretary was asked, ‘What does the White House think about this?’ And I kid you not, their response was ‘We have no position on that.’ ”
“Like what in the hell is wrong with you?” Look, I’m no fan of Pelosi. But the only answer to an enemy of America threatening to murder the speaker of the House of the United States is that it would be an act of war and the result would be devastating consequences.” He continued.
