HBO’s “Real Time” star Bill Maher spoke out against President Joe Biden’s recent decision to forgive more student loans. It was his idea that the tax money he pays would be used to pay for “Jew-hating” on college campuses.
Maher said that he gets “incensed” by how many of the students involved in the anti-Israel protests on college campuses in recent weeks.
“When I read about the student loans… “The Biden administration’s plan to forgive student loans will cost between $870 billion and $1.4 trillion all together.” “That gets rid of a lot of debt,” Maher said. “Each year, college costs go up, students take out more loans, and then the government pays off those loans.” Okay, so my tax money is paying for this hatred of Jews? “I don’t believe it.”
Kellyanne Conway from Fox News was also on the show. She said that the forgiveness of student debts was unfair because “plumbers and pipefitters can’t pay for the student loans of doctors and lawyers.”
Conway went on to say that it’s also not working because many young people are more worried about the Gaza war than their student loans right now. But some said there are other issues that are more important and have been covered in the news than the Israel war.
They also talked about how Trump has the most votes from young people, even though Biden has tried to get more young voters to vote for him. “Biden was elected to get rid of the chaos and trouble that came with the Trump years.” I believe everyone can agree with that… There has been no such event as what you see on TV when you look at these schools. “That’s a big reason why he’s losing the vote, especially among young people,” said Joshua Green, a reporter for Bloomberg Businessweek.
At the end of her speech, Conway talked about how the war motion didn’t get enough votes. “At the border, on our college campuses, and in the halls of Congress last October, thirty-one Democrats voted against the resolution to condemn Hezbollah and Hamas,” she said.
