President Joe Biden says that he agrees with Japan’s plan to talk to North Korea and that this is a “good thing.” He also said that he was willing to talk to Kim without any terms.

The meeting between Joe Biden and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Washington was meant to show how strong their defense is in the face of possible dangers from China and North Korea. The US’s support comes at a time when Biden is trying to get North Korea to talk to and work with the US again, but the comment has not been answered.

“We welcome the chance for our allies to start talking with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” Biden said. He went on, “As I’ve said many times, we’re ready to talk to the DPRK without any conditions.”

Kishisa said, “The door to a conversation with North Korea is open.” He also said, “Building a meaningful relationship between Japan and North Korea is in the best interests of both countries, and it could do a lot to promote peace and stability in the region.”

Since Biden took office, his administration has been pushing for a meeting with Kim. During his time in office, Donald Trump met with Kim, but this did not stop North Korea from making progress on nuclear weapons.

So, both Biden and Kishida have said that any talk must lead to a solution for the Japanese people that North Korea has taken hostage.
